micro:bit courses

Edited

The micro:bit (microbit.org) is a Tynker-compatible, affordable hardware gadget called a microcontroller. This device is perfect for anyone who is interested in engineering, electronics, and hardware. Best of all, there’s no soldering or breadboarding needed to get started: The device has onboard buttons, sensors, and a simple LED screen.

You can create your own micro:bit project by going to Create a New Project, then selecting a micro:bit template.

Tynker has two courses on micro:bit, which are recommended to get up to speed:

  • micro:bit 101 (ages 8+) — Avast, ye scallywags! Follow along with the pirates of micro:bit in this simple block coding course.

  • micro:bit & Python (ages 11+) — This Python-based coding course is well stocked with hardware coding challenges that will have you building projects like a pedometer, loaded dice roller, and more.

Want to grab a micro:bit for yourself? Find a local reseller here. You can even buy Tynker's micro:bit Classroom pack .
