How does an administrator set up Tynker logins through Clever?

This will depend on what kind of account you have. If you have a free account your Clever administrator just needs to add the Tynker Login Clever application. If you have a premium account, you will need both the Tynker Login Clever application and the Tynker Premium Clever application.

Free accounts

  • Teachers and students will just be using SSO. Teachers can login to Tynker using their Clever account credentials, and then they can use a class code in order to roster students in the classroom.

Premium Accounts

  • With the addition of the Tynker Premium Clever Application, teachers will be able to add classrooms through an automatic sync of Clever rosters. Teachers and students will still log in to Tynker through the Tynker Login Clever application (they won't use the Tynker Premium application). The addition of Tynker premium adds the rostering component directly within their account allowing them to choose which classroom rosters to use through a drop down menu.

Teachers do have to take the one step of adding their roster into their Tynker account, but after it added Clever and Tynker will automatically sync.

As district administrators set up sharing rules it is recommended that they only share the locations, teachers, and classes that may be using Tynker. It is also recommended to make the sharing rules match if you are a Premium account holder using both applications.
