Switching Your Tynker Integration

Edited

If your school or district plans to change how it connects Tynker to your school's roster or login system, contact Tynker Support for Schools before making the change.

Examples of integration changes include:

  • Switching from Clever to ClassLink

  • Switching from ClassLink to Clever

  • Changing from one supported rostering method to another

  • Moving from an existing integration to Google Classroom

Before making a change

Please provide Tynker Support for Schools with:

  • Your school or district name

  • Your current integration

  • The new integration you plan to use

  • Your planned transition date

We recommend planning major integration changes around the end of the school year whenever possible.

What happens to existing accounts?

The steps required to transition existing accounts depend on the integrations involved.

When the same email addresses are used in the new setup, existing Tynker accounts and projects may remain associated with those users. However, do not assume that accounts will automatically be migrated for every integration change.

Tynker Support for Schools can review your setup and confirm the appropriate migration process.

What happens to my roster?

After the new integration is connected, your school or district will need to configure the data shared with Tynker and sync the new roster.

The way students, teachers, and classrooms are created or updated depends on the integration you're using.

Switching to Google Classroom

If you are moving to Google Classroom, the setup process is different from Clever or ClassLink. Follow the Google Classroom setup instructions for information about connecting Google Classroom and syncing your classes.

Before disconnecting your current integration, contact Tynker Support for Schools so we can help determine the appropriate transition process for your school.
